The NEC can also assist you to register on the Commonwealth Courts Portal so you can access your family law file electronically.

If you have an existing family law file email us at registerme@comcourts.gov.au with your file number, full name, date of birth and the name of the other party so we can register you and provide you with instant access to your electronic file.

Once you are registered you will then be able to electronically file a range of documents, track the progress of your case, access your case information and download orders.

Please note: The court no longer posts hard copies of sealed orders, including divorce orders to parties. Court orders (except appeals and consent orders) are signed and sealed electronically and available to download from the Commonwealth Courts Portal.  The order you download is the only official and original record the court issues and is evidence that an order has been made. The National Enquiry Centre supports the Family Court of Western Australia with Commonwealth Courts Portal support only. If your inquiry is about your family file or a procedural question you should contact the Family Court of Western Australia directly on 08 9224 8222 or go to their website.

If there is an urgent reason for you to contact the court after hours please call the National Enquiry Centre phone number 1300 352 000.

This after hours service is limited to the family law jurisdiction in circumstances where:

  • There is a real risk of a child being removed from Australia before the next working day; or
  • A lawyer contacts the service where there is a risk of removal or dissipation of assets before the next working day.

The courts cannot deal with any other disputes about children, for example around delivery or return of a child, outside usual opening hours.
