Information about working for the Family Court of Australia
The Family Court of Australia maintains registers of people interested in obtaining non-ongoing employment with the Court. Although the registers are used to fill immediate short term vacancies, opportunities for longer term contracts and ongoing positions may arise from time to time.
There are 2 types of registers:
Corporate positions (National Support Office - ACT only): APS level 3 - APS level 6
Annual salary: $45,951 - $69,074 plus 15.4% superannuation
Positions include:
Client Service: APS level 2 - APS level 4
Annual salary: $39,320 - $54,196 plus 15.4% superannuation

Eligibility Conditions
Citizenship - Applicants who are not Australian citizens are ineligible for employment as an ongoing or non-ongoing Australian Public Service employee (unless special circumstances exist).
Receipt of redundancy benefit - Applicants who have received a redundancy benefit from an APS agency in the last 12 months are generally ineligible for employment as ongoing employees, however exceptions for some non-ongoing positions may apply.
Security check - All new employees to the Court are required to undergo an Australian Federal Police criminal history check. The check assists the Court in determining the suitability of applicants for employment.
Background checks - The Family Court reserves the right to contact applicants past or present employers in order to obtain background information about their suitability for employment.
